Funding to support onshore online learning
Funded training for onshore workers
As a special measure during the pandemic we are subsidising the cost of online and remote training for workers in the onshore sectors of the seafood industry.
Funding will cover the full cost of the following online courses, allowing learners who pass an invigilated exam to gain a regulated qualification for free:
Funding can also be used to subsidise the cost of our remote learning programmes. Further information on our expanding range of remotely delivered courses is available on our onshore training courses page.
Example taught courses, delivered by video conference software include:
- Introduction to HACCP in the seafood industry
- Bivalve purification operations
- Food defence and integrity
- Food authenticity verification management
- Principles of fish quality assessment
- Elementary food hygiene (taught)
Funding to support onshore training courses is available during 2020 and 2021 (subject to prior approval). To register for support please apply to onshore@seafish.co.uk using the expression of interest form below.
Skills Development Scotland is providing funding through the Scottish Seafood Training Network (SSTN) for Scottish companies. Please note that although businesses outside of Scotland cannot access the funding, they can still participate in the training at full cost.
Applications are submitted using a different form, available on the Seafood Training Academy website.
