72% of people who used local search went on to visit a business they found. Local search engine optimisation (SEO) brings huge potential for businesses, but it can be confusing to know where to start. In this workshop we’ll explain what SEO is, how to find out what your customers are already searching for, and how to get started with Google MyBusiness and SEO on your website. We'll also introduce Love Seafood by Seafish marketing tools, to show how you can complement your SEO with great content.
The webinar will be hosted by our Head of Marketing Greg Smith. It will feature a presentation by Melissa Rynn, Digital Innovations and Insight Director at creative agency John Doe. The presentation will cover:
- What is Search Engine Optimisation (SEO)?
- How to find what your customers are searching for
- How to set up a Google MyBusiness account
- The basics of SEO for your website
- Free tools to get you started
- How Love Seafood assets and tools can support your marketing
There will also be time for a Q&A discussion after the presentation.
The event is free but you need to register to book a place. Click the button above to sign up to attend on Eventbrite.
Event content has been developed for independent restaurants in response to challenges faced by the foodservice sector over the past year. Independent fishmongers, retailers or fish and chip shops are also welcome to attend.
About the speakers
Greg Smith works at Seafish as Head of Marketing, where he’s resided since 2018; leading a quest to get the nation eating more seafood, more often. Before moving into a world of fish and shellfish, Greg spent more than a decade working in creative agencies, developing and managing marketing campaigns with clients like Burger King, Radisson hotels and ACCA.
Greg’s talent lies in building strong brands and teams; ensuring the customer, and solid insight, are at the heart of everything he does. If he could take anyone for a beer, he’d ask Martin Scorsese – as Greg reckons he’s one of the world’s greatest storytellers. Something every good marketeer should be!
Melissa Ryan leads digital and innovation at award-winning agency John Doe, whose recent awards include Best Digital Communication and Best Use of Content. With a place in BIMA’s list of top 100 digital marketers, she regularly appears as a thought-leader on the likes of BBC Radio Four, BBC Scotland and STV’s Scotland Tonight.
