Selectivity Trials with the Looe Pair Trawling Team of 'BUDDING ROSE' (LH134) and 'LEVAN-MOR' (FY269)

Summary

Pair trawlers from Looe are about 200 hp each. Experiments have been carried out in this fishery to see if these are dry benefits from the use of square mesh panels to reduce discards of hake, whiting and squid. The benefits would appear marginal but there are some qualifying remarks to make regarding the operational patterns of these vessels which might distant the results.
