Seafood Week 2019 ran from 4-11 October
Seafood businesses big or small from all sectors of the industry – producers, processers, retailers, food service providers and independents – were invited to get involved in a UK wide campaign delivered from our consumer brand Fish is the Dish.
The campaign kicked off with #fishpunday on Friday 4 October and also featured activity days on a selection of popular and lesser known species:
- Friday 4: Mackerel
- Saturday 5: Prawns
- Sunday 6: Plaice
- Monday 7: Scallops
- Tuesday 8: Mussels
- Wednesday 9: Hake
- Thursday 10: Crab
- Friday 11: Haddock, cod and pollock for fish & chips
Businesses from across the industry participated in a variety of ways from offering promotions, to running competitions or events, as well as sharing stories on the ways consumers buy, cook and dine out on great seafood, and there was lots of activity and engagement on social media using #SeafoodWeek.
