Health and Safety Training Courses
Introduction to Health and Safety
- This course is suitable for people working in the seafood industry as counter assistants, customer service assistants and fishmongers.
- It is a half-day taught course which includes a 30-minute exam.
- It is usually delivered to a single business but public courses are also available.
- People who pass the exam will receive a Royal Environmental Health Institute of Scotland (REHIS) or Seafish qualification.
- It usually costs around £50 per person when delivered to a group.
- Course materials available include a REHIS workbook and an exam pack.
Elementary Health and Safety
- This course is suitable for people working as factory supervisors and those supervising fish friers customer service assistants and fishmongers
- It can be delivered as a taught or online course.
- The one-day taught course is usually delivered to a single business but public courses are also occasionally available.
- The online learning option requires around 10 hours of study and attendance at an exam.
- People who pass the exam will receive a Royal Environmental Health Institute of Scotland (REHIS) or Seafish qualification.
- Costs vary but it is usually around £50-£75 per person.
- A REHIS handbook is available for the taught course at an additional £4 charge.
- The open learning course book is available in pdf format.
