Prawn on the Lawn named Seafood Restaurant of the Year 2019

A family-run Cornwall restaurant was crowned winner of the 2019 UK Seafood Restaurant of the Year competition. Claiming the title after several judging rounds, Prawn on the Lawn in Padstow impressed some of the country’s toughest industry experts with its visible fish counter, excellent wine list, range of available species on the menu and overall concept.

More finalists announced for the 2020 National Fish & Chip Awards

The announcement of shortlisted finalists in a range of categories for the National Fish & Chip Awards continues as the 2020 awards ceremony draws closer. Recent shortlists shared include the Menu Development and Innovation Award, the Marketing Innovation Award and the Good Catch Award for sustainably sourced seafood.

UK Seafood Summit Presentations

The UK Seafood Summit held last month saw over 300 delegates listen to presentations on a variety of topics around the theme, The Responsible Seafood Economy.

Over the course of two days delegates listened to discussions on changing consumer habits, innovation and technology in the workplace and the changing nature of seafood sourcing from speakers such as Winus Sloot, Sales & Marketing Director at Fish Tales; Simon Moriarty, Director of Trends EMEA at Mintel; and Jean-Charles Gordon, Fisheries Analyst at Ocean Mind. It was announced at the UK Seafood Summit that the Scottish Seafood Summit would be returning for a second year.

The event will take place on 29 and 30 April 2020 and be held at the Mercure Aberdeen Ardoe Hotel and Spa, Blairs, Aberdeen. To book tickets click here.
