Scottish Seafood Summit

26 March 2019
In the week that the UK was set to leave the EU, the Scottish Seafood Summit provided insight and debate on one of the biggest topics to affect the seafood industry in decades.

As an independent organisation working closely with industry and Government, Seafish is well placed to help the industry manage the impact of the UK’s exit from the EU and to guide businesses through the process. During the two day event we brought together experts from across the UK to talk about the burning issues in the industry. The first Scottish Seafood Summit was held in Aberdeen on the 26-27 March 2019.

Leaving the EU will present challenges and opportunities across the seafood industry, and our goal with this Summit was to equip our stakeholders to respond to the changing landscape.

Like its sister event, the UK Seafood Summit, the Scottish Summit was free to attend and as well as a platform for discussion and debate, it was also a great networking opportunity for our attendees.

Opened by Seafish CEO, Marcus Coleman, and with an introductory speech from Cabinet Secretary for the Rural Economy, Fergus Ewing MSP - the Scottish Seafood Summit was a huge success, with over 150 delegates in attendance over the two days of the event.

If you missed any of the event, we are pleased to announce that the presentations have now been made available - along with recordings from the event- which are now available to watch on our youtube channel.
