Construction standards

High standards of construction is what sets the UK boatbuilding industry apart as one of the best in the world.

At Seafish, we have our own set of construction standards which have been developed in close consultation with the MCA, boatbuilders, and fishing industry representatives.

These standards provide a benchmark for the level of construction to which a new vessel should be built in order to gain UK registration as a commercial fishing vessel.

Amendments to the standards are issued as Seafish Information Notes, which can be found underneath the relevant standards.
