Changes to EU rules on Illegal, Unreported and Unregulated (IUU) fishing affecting UK exporters

From 10 January 2026, UK seafood exporters to the EU must provide additional information on catch certificates.

Many stakeholders have enquired about new EU rules aimed at preventing Illegal, Unreported, and Unregulated fishing (IUU). We are working closely with Marine Management Organisation (MMO) and devolved administrations to ensure that the seafood industry is kept informed about the upcoming changes and the actions required to comply.

This workshop will be held prior to the implementation of the new rules. Further details will be confirmed in due course. Please contact us if you are interested in attending.

In the meantime, here is the recording of a MMO webinar on the changes: Fish, Trace, Ship Webinar - Navigating the New Seafood Export Rules - 22 October 2025.
