Fishing Industry Safety Group
A stakeholder group working together to improve the safety of fishermen at sea.
FISG brings together representatives from the fishing industry with representatives from the regulators, the Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA), and other stakeholders to discuss the factors affecting fishing safety and identify ways to reduce the number of deaths, injuries and vessel losses.
The FISG Executive Board meets twice a year, but undertakes additional work through its three main sub-groups: Operations, Training and Safety Communications. The sub-groups meet several times per year at different venues around the country.
