IIFET 2018 Pre-Conference Workshop

Seafish and the IIFET 2018 conference organisers are teaming up to organise a one day workshop on Designing Economic Data Collection to Support Fisheries Co-Management.

The workshop follows the highly successful 'Fishing Cost Data Collection and Implications in Fisheries Management' session held at IIFET 2016 and is designed to inspire data collection professionals to consider the links between data collection and the analysis and evidence based on that data.

The aim of the workshop is to share best practices and help individuals improve both their data collection and their analysis and presentation of findings. The day will include speakers and presentations from industry and government, and participants will gain practical tools and techniques as well as study examples from Seafish's award-winning Quay Issues publications.
The workshop will take place before the main conference on Monday 16th July at the University of Washington.  The registration fee for this pre-conference workshop will be $150, with a discounted fee of $50 available to participants from developing countries. A small number of partial travel support grants will be available to developing country participants.

Spaces will be limited; to register your advance interest please e-mail steven.lawrence@seafish.co.uk.

The conference is now open for early-bird abstract submissions. For further details head to the IIFET website.

More details including speakers will be announced soon.
