Restrictions on food from Kanagawa prefecture
24 May 2011
The European Commission has placed restrictions on food and feed originating in or consigned from the Japanese prefecture of Kanagawa following the detection of a high level of caesium in green tea leaves from the prefecture. Twelve prefectures are already subject to restrictions following the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear accident. Implementing Regulation 506/2011, which also updates the food safety attestations required by Implementing Regulation 297/2011, comes into force on 25 May 2011.
