Hake fraud uncovered in Spain

A DNA study commissioned by the International Consortium of Investigative journalists (ICIJ) in July found that 8.6% of hake bought in Madrid was mislabelled. Different species, including cheaper fish such as catfish from Vietnam and grenadier from the Pacific Ocean, were being sold as hake in markets across Madrid.
