FVO delegation visiting Bangladesh

According to the Financial Express, a 3-member delegation of the European Commission's Food and Veterinary Office (FVO) is scheduled to visit Bangladesh from 24 March to 2 April. The Commission has imposed stringent mandatory testing on shrimp from Bangladesh, and exporters in Bangladesh and importers in the EU are hoping that a favourable assessment by the FVO will result in a withdrawal of the testing requirements. According to one official, the future of the country's frozen food export to EU countries largely depends on the FVO mission's report on aquaculture residue monitoring activities
