FSA finalises 5-year Listeria plan
21 October 2011
The Food Standards Agency (FSA) has finalised its Listeria Risk Management Programme.
The five-year programme has three main workstreams, each informed by research and surveillance: consumer behaviours and actions; provision of food to vulnerable people; and industry compliance and enforcement.
In relation to improving industry compliance with the law, the FSA will focus on sectors producing foods that are high risk for Listeria monocytogenes, such as smaller smoked fish producers.
