Canadian importer uses DNA technology

Tradex Foods, based in Victoria, Canada, is fighting mislabelling and fraud by using DNA testing on seafood processed in China. According to canada.com, 10 to 30 fish samples are sent monthly from its overseas processing facilities to an Illinois-based DNA sequencing company for analysis.
