What we do

Our mission: to support the seafood industry for a sustainable, profitable future.

Seafish, the authority on seafood, works across all sectors of the seafood industry to promote good quality, sustainable seafood.  Our research and projects aimed to raise standards, improve efficiency and ensuring that our industry develops sustainably.

We are the UK's only cross-industry seafood body working with fishermen, processors, wholesalers, seafood farmers, fish friers, caterers, retailers and the import/export trade.

How we can help:

As the authority on seafood, Seafish is uniquely placed to provide:

  • Breaking news about the seafood industry
  • Comment and information on a wide range of seafood related issues
  • In depth briefings on seafood and marine environmental issues
  • Up-to-date retail sales data for seafood
  • Health information about seafood

We have subject specialists in:

  • sustainability issues, including the marine environment and sustainable fishing
  • fish stocks - current data and commentary
  • market insight and retail sales data
  • fishing gear technology information,
  • legislation (UK and EU),
  • training, standards and safety at sea,
  • economics and business planning

We can also organise for you to find out more about any sector of the seafood industry from going out on a fishing boat, working in a processing plant, to serving up fish and chips to the public.
