To help the fishing and aquaculture industry prosper in marine protected areas, we have developed an 'Environmental Toolkit' which shows how fishing and aquaculture can operate in harmony with marine nature conservation interests. The toolkit includes simple measures to prevent or reduce damage or disturbance to wildlife, guidance on how to comply with the requirements of nature conservation legislation and procedures to record the location of key wildlife and habitats in order to demonstrate how fishing and aquaculture can be compatible with nature conservation objectives.
