Export profiles
We have published a range of Seafood Export Profiles as a
guide to overseas markets.
These Seafood Export Profiles are designed to help you make
informed decisions about export markets and provide insight into
doing business.
The Export Profiles provide a summary of the market in a particular country with information on demographics, domestic market and UK share of the market. They also give specific information on the seafood industry within the selected country, including an overview of the supply chain, key retailers, the foodservice sector, as well as a summary of key regulations and tariffs for imported seafood and useful links on doing business abroad.
Trade Reports
The UK Trade Reports give details of seafood imports into
and exports out of Great Britain. Detailed import and export
statistics are given by country, species and presentation for the
current month and the year-to-date, showing both quantity and
value. This data is sourced from United Kingdom HM Revenue &
Customs.
Nielsen UK retail market data
We currently produce eight retail reports focusing on different
areas of the retail market. Current reports are the Context,
Ambient, Smoked, Cod, Prawns, Salmon, Shellfish and Scampi and
Langoustine. All retail reports are now hosted on the Seafood Information Network
(SIN) and are updated monthly. Once registered with SIN you can
subscribe to the Retail Reports so that you're automatically
notified when new reports are uploaded.
We can also provide face-to-face sessions and tailored market research programmes for importers and distributors designed to increase sales.
Consumer research
Our consumer research allows organisations to better understand the
way seafood consumers make purchasing decisions with a view to
selling more seafood all year round.
Other recent consumer research projects include investigation into
consumers attitudes to sustainably sourced seafood and consumer
perception of cold water prawns.
