Peru in efforts to resume bivalve exports to the EU

Officials from the Institute of Fisheries Technology of Peru (ITP) and the National Fisheries Health Service of Peru (Sanipes) will participate in several meetings with representatives of the European Commission's Health and Consumers Directorate (DG Sanco) to solve the problem of Peruvian bivalve mollusc exports to the EU.

The importation of most bivalve molluscs from Peru have been restricted since 2008 following the detection of the hepatitis A virus.
