FDA implements re-inspection charges
03 October 2011
The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has implemented charges for re-inspections that result from adverse findings and actions. The FDA will begin to track, assess and collect fees for re-inspections of US and foreign facilities and for failure to comply with recall order. Import re-inspections will also incur a fee, but the charges will not be implemented until the FDA resolves issues raised by importers. The charging of fees is authorised by the US Food Safety Modernization Act.
More information and guidance is available on the FDA's website here: http://www.fda.gov/Food/FoodSafety/FSMA/ucm257982.htm
