Seafish Wales Advisory Committee (SWAC)

The Seafish Wales Advisory Committee (SWAC) provides a forum by which the seafood industry in Wales, through its representatives, can input into the decision making process of Seafish.

The Advisory Committee meets twice a year, alternating between north, mid and south Wales. The core membership of SWAC is representative of the Welsh industry, from fishing and aquaculture, distribution and processing, through to retail and foodservice. Welsh Government representatives and scientists also often attend meetings to provide updates and information as required.  SWAC therefore provides a useful platform for liaison between different Welsh seafood sectors and these other bodies.

The next Seafish Wales Advisory Committee will be held Spring 2019. If there is anything you'd like to raise at this meeting please contact Dr Holly Whiteley, Seafish Wales Manager at holly.whiteley@seafish.co.uk.

With the support of Seafish, SWAC have developed a 'Wales Seafood Strategy' which outlines the Committee's for sustainable growth. The Strategy can be viewed in Welsh and English.

Minutes of previous meetings are published below once ratified by the Committee.

The agendas and minutes of all previous meetings are available to download below, once ratified by the Committee.
