Certification standards vary in the factors (or 'issues') they cover.

Some are focused on highly specific 'single issues' - such as organic standards or a set of criteria relating to food safety. Others are more general in their approach and incorporate a cross-section of factors, perhaps under a broader heading such as 'ethical sourcing'.
