CFP reform: first package in July

Maria Damanaki, European Commissioner for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, has announced that she is planning the adoption the first package on the reform of the Common Fisheries Policy (CFP) on 13 July 2011. She did so at an extraordinary meeting of the European Parliament PECH Committee.

This first package will have an overarching Communication, a new basic Regulation, a new Common Market Regulation, a Communication on the external dimension of fisheries policy, and a report on access to waters. The financial Regulation can be expected towards the end of 2011.
