Spicy Plaice

The combination of spices used in this spicy plaice dish brings out the sweetness and tenderness of the fish.

Preparation time: 5 minutes
Cooking time: 5 minutes
Serves 4

  • 4 plaice fillets, skinned and halved lengthways
  • 1 tbsp of paprika
  • ΒΌ tsp of ground cumin
  • A pinch of salt
  • 2 tbsp of flour
  • 1 tbsp of olive oil
  • 2 tbsp of sunflower oil

  1. Mix together the paprika, cumin, salt, and flour in a small, flat bowl.
  2. Dip the fish fillets into the flour mixture, tapping away an excess.
  3. Heat the oil in a frying pan and, once hot, add the fish. Cook for two minutes on each side. Remove the fish and allow to stand for a minute. Don't be tempted to overcook the fillets, as they will continue to cook once removed from the heat.
  4. Serve with green beans and a yoghurt and cucumber dressing.
