Banned substances

Some pharmacologically active substances have no fixed MRLs; these constitute a hazard to consumers when present in food at any level.

This the full list of prohibited substances for which no MRL can be established. The list appears in Table 2 of the Annex in Commission Regulation 37/2010:

Chloroform
Chlorpromazine
Colchicine
Dapsone
Dimetridazole
Metronidazole
Nitrofurans (including furazolidone)
