New Animal Health and Welfare Board for England

24 May 2011

Agriculture and Food Minister Jim Paice announced the establishment of a new Animal Health and Welfare Board for England on 26 April 2011. The new Board will have responsibility for future strategic animal health and welfare policy and oversight of its delivery in England.  It will have strong communication links to stakeholder organisations so that their expertise, ideas and opinions inform the decisions of the Board. The Board's terms of reference include aquaculture within the scope of the Board's responsibilities.
