India to clamp down on illegal shrimp farms

The Indian Coastal Aquaculture Authority (CAA) has announced that it intends to clamp down on illegal and unregistered shrimp farms. The authorities are particularly concerned with unregistered Litopenaeus vannamei shrimp production facilities, the use of illegal antibiotics and the use of contaminated water for farming.
