Defra consults on the future of English aquaculture
25 January 2012
Defra has launched a consultation on the sustainable growth of aquaculture in England. The consultation document, developed by the English Aquaculture Plan Consultation Group, sets out recommendations to support the sustainable development of the English aquaculture industry. The document also examines potential barriers to development, such as access to finance, legal planning and environmental issues, feed availability, fish and shellfish disease, end product safety, water quality, technological challenges, training, market competition and consumer perception.
More information on the consultation and links to the consultation documents are available on the Defra website here: http://www.defra.gov.uk/consult/2012/01/12/aquaculture-1201/
