Change to 'closed aquaculture' rules

The European Commission has changed its definition of 'closed aquaculture facility', introducing a more detailed list of criteria. The change is in a new Regulation on the use of alien and locally absent species in aquaculture. The movement of species held in compliant closed aquaculture facilities will be exempt from some of the current permitting and registration requirements.
