Lynn will join the Seafish Executive team in her new role from 1 November following years of success working on our regional engagement programme.

We are pleased to announce that Dr Lynn Gilmore has been promoted to Director of Communications and Engagement at Seafish.

In her new role, Lynn will be responsible for our communication and stakeholder engagement strategy. This covers our work across our Marketing, Communications, Regional and Horizon Scanning functions including the Love Seafood consumer brand.

She’ll also join the Executive team and play a role in the organisation’s current Strategic Review.

Dr Lynn Gilmore
Dr Lynn Gilmore will start as Director of Communications and Engagement on 1 November.

Lynn has been with Seafish since 2009 and is widely respected for her work and commitment to the UK seafood sector. She was previously our Seafish Northern Ireland Manager responsible for all Seafish activities in Northern Ireland.

In 2019 she became Head of International Trade and the Regions (West) with responsibility for developing the Seafish Regional Team in the west of the UK and developing our portfolio of International Trade promotion activity.

She holds an Honours Degree in Biological Sciences and a PhD both earned at Queens University Belfast.

Lynn replaces another esteemed Seafish colleague Hazel Curtis who left her role as Director of Corporate Relations in August. Hazel was with Seafish for 21 years and enjoyed success as our Chief Economist too.

I am honoured to have been appointed to this role. I am looking forward to working with our Board, Sector Panels, the UK seafood industry and my Seafish colleagues to deliver real benefits in the years ahead and building on the legacy of my predecessor, Hazel Curtis.

Lynn will take up the new role on 1 November and will continue to support our regional engagement work until a new person is in post.

Lynn has worked tirelessly in Northern Ireland and across the rest of the UK during her time in our Regional team. She is hugely respected by those she has worked with in the seafood industry. We have no doubt she will have a positive impact on our communication and stakeholder engagement ambitions.

“The seafood industry is complex and to have her knowledge and experience on our Executive team is invaluable.

“I’d also like to thank Hazel for her commitment, professionalism and passion during her time at Seafish and wish her the very best for the future.
