Seafish will again support the annual Humber Seafood Summit, which takes place this week on September 8 in Grimsby.  Seafish Senior economist, Angus Garrett will talk on ''Sustainability in the UK' and Seafish Board member James Wilson will cover "A sustainable future for UK shellfish aquaculture."

This is the second Humber Seafood Summit, the inaugural event in 2010 having been very well received by industry.  Once again the Summit is hosted by Wynne Griffiths, chairman of the Humber Seafood Group.  Over 100 delegates are expected to attend and there are more than a dozen speakers in total.

Chief executive of Seafish, Dr Paul Williams, will also give a keynote speech at a workshop on marine by-product use, the day before the summit (September 7).  He commented, "The Seafood Summit is an excellent forum for industry to meet and discuss some of the most pertinent issues currently facing the seafood sector.  We're delighted to be involved again this year."

The second Seafood Summit will take place at Humber Seafood Institute, Europarc, Grimsby on Thursday, September 8.
