Humber Seafood Summit, 11 October 2017, Grimsby

The Humber Seafood Summit is organised and co-ordinated by Seafish in association with key stakeholders in the Humber area, around the UK and globally. The event brings together major industry players from the distributors, processors, foodservice and retail sectors of the UK seafood industry

  • The theme of this year's summit is 'Supply and Demand'.
  • The event brings together national and international Government speakers including DEFRA's George Eustace and the Ambassador for Iceland in the UK Thordur Aegir Oskarsson. 
  • The potential impacts of Brexit and European trade, ethics, product integrity and reputation will be the focus of sessions.
  • Workshop sessions on the Tuesday include a focus on Seafish's online responsible sourcing and ethics tools.
  • A networking event on the evening prior to the conference includes a Seafood Fayre, showcasing companies including Icelandic Seachill (Saucy Fish), the Grimsby Institute and Craemar (Fish Boxes) along with seafood from around the UK and local produce from Lincolnshire.
  • Attendees will discuss a range of topics including consumer and market trends, sustainability, labour issues, aquaculture developments, supply chain developments, reputation issues and wider global outlooks.
  • While the summit also offers extensive business networking opportunities.

The Seafood Fayre networking event takes place on Tuesday, 10 October at The Humber Royal Hotel, Grimsby.

The conference will be held on Wednesday, 11 October 8.30am - 4pm at The Pier, Cleethorpes.
